''Monster High: Ghouls Rule'' is the fourth film in the Monster High film series. It is chronologically the fifth film taking place after ''Friday Night Frights'' which is unaired. The Wal-Mart exclusive DVD features the first 15 webisodes from Volume 1. The film was released on DVD October 9, 2012 and aired on Nickelodeon on October 26, 2012. ==Plot== As Halloween approaches, Mr. Rotter shows the students at Monster High a video and warns them about Halloween, when the humans (normies) set out to capture and torture monsters. Frankie Stein is confused, as she belied that Halloween was a time for trick-or-treating and dressing up. Deuce assures her that Mr.Rotter says the same thing every year but nothing ever happens, but is angered by Cleo, whose father believes normies chased out of Europe on Halloween hundreds of years ago due to a misunderstanding. Later that day, Spectra flies into the school screaming that the normies have attacked monster high. The students go outside, only to find that two masked normie boys have toilet papered the school. The boys proceed to throw eggs at the monsters and promise that they'll make this the worst Halloween of their lives. The school is outraged, but Headmistress Bloodgood demands that they not retaliate or go out in public. A confused Frankie finds out about a room called the hall of Halloween that is supposedly hidden in the school catacombs and enlists Abbey, Spectra and Operetta to find it, believing it holds the secret to the truth nature of Halloween. The girls discover a large, wore out ballroom with an interactive display the tells the story of Halloween; it was created by the normies to celebrate their special monster friends and that everyone would get dressed up and attend a dance together in the town square. The girls race to tell the others the truth, only to find that the normies returned and set up booby traps outside the school. Meanwhile, Jackson Jekyll becomes afraid of being the only normie at monster high and embarrasses Heath attempts to show off in front of Abbey because she saved him from one of the Normie traps and Draculaura decides to set up a speed dating session after a scared Clawdeen ditches their double date. Cleo's father and sister, Nefera, laugh at Cleo for being soft and dating Deuce (who they view as a loser) and encourage her to do something. Cleo secretly enlists Clawd, Howleen, Heath, Rochelle Goyle, Venus McFlytrap, Manny Taur and Toralei to vandalize the normie high school as payback. Jackson wants to help, but is threatened by Manny, who says that they'll only let Holt Hyde come along. Jackson warns them that Holt is unpredictable and unreliable, but is persuade to transform into his alter ego. A few nights before Halloween, the group travel through the sewer to the normie school. Venus and Rochelle chicken out and turn back and an annoyed Holt runs ahead on his own. After, arriving at the school the group finds that someone else has been there and has painted the school crest on the building. Unfortunately, the group is chased all over town by the police, who believe they were responsible. They are rescued by Frankie,Abbey, Deuce and Lagoona( who followed the group to stop them from getting revenge)and the group accidentally ends up at a Normie Halloween party hosted by Chad and his best friend Clair, who befriend them, thinking they are just in costume. The group has fun, but are shocked to meet Lilith Van Hellscream, The selfish niece of the monster hunter who attempted to destroy monster high. Lilith shares her uncle's way of thinking and attempts to turn the party guest against the monsters when their heritage is revealed after Heath bursts into flames. Clair and Chad successfully defend them, until they are interrupted by the police arresting Holt for the vandalism. Despite maintaining his innocence, Holt is arrested and the others are forced to leave him behind during their escape. The next day, Holt turns back into Jackson, who lies and convinces the police to let him go. Believing Holt to have escaped, the police mistakenly send Jackson to the normie school, where ,despite bullying from Lilith and her crew, he befriends Chad and Clair and is happy, until a suspicions Lilith causes him to turn into Holt and he is forced to hide. Monster high is in shock and is unsure if Holt is guilty or not. Seeking to please her family, Cleo breaks up with Deuce and lies to the school about Holt telling her that he did it and that he will be updating his blog about it.Deuce and Frankie are the only ones who believe Holt is innocent and attempt to rescue him, only to lead the police to him. The vengeful sheriff arranges for Holt to be tortured to dead on Halloween night and the monsters are forbidden to interfere by the monster high council. Frankie and her friends enlist Chad and Clair to help prove Holt's innocence, and discover that Lilith was the real vandal and that Cleo was hacking his blog. Cleo and Lilith (who have become fast friends) are forced by Frankie, Deuce,Abbey and Lagoon to confess to the Sheriff, who refuses to stop the execution, believing monsters to be enemy's. Frankie then creates a plan to free Holt. On Halloween, Robecca steam and Abbey help Frankie free Holt and take him to monster high. While the police chase them, their new Normie friends persuade the mob to storm monster high, where they are lured to the hall of Halloween by Heath. The group reveals the truth about the vandalism and Halloween to the Normie and the police and successfully convince them to put aside their grudges and party with them, like in the past. Cleo apologizes to Deuce for listening to her dad,but Deuce says they he loves her and understands that family is complicated. Heath finally manages to impresses Abbey. Draculaura apologizes to Clawdeen, who hasn't talked to her since the failed speed dating session.Clawdeen apologizes for not saying she was scared and forgives Draculaura. After falling in love with a cute vampire, Clawdeen finds out he is Thad and decides to face her fears. Clair kisses Jackson, who has fallen in love with her.
